Yoco Yoghurt
Author: Vanessa Tripodi, August 2006
Adelaide consumers were first introduced to Yoco Yoghurt on the shelves of local fruit and veg stores. Now Adelaide's own Yoco Yoghurt have yoghurt bars in prime positions all over Adelaide.
Yoco Yoghurt is based in Sailsbury South and are one of the few yoghurt makers that don't freeze their yoghurt. The freezing process does make the yoghurt last longer, but it destroys the taste, texture and the live cultures which provide the myriad of health benefits attributed to yogurt. Using traditional Greek techniques, Yoco Yoghurt is made weekly and is fermented using natural cultures. The yogurt is delivered fresh to the stores, with the individual flavours added at the store. Yoco yoghurt is not artificially thickened or sweetened and is high in calcium which promotes strong bones and teeth and the live cultures in the yoghurt help to achieve a healthy digestive system. Yoco Yoghurt offers a variety of tasty flavoured yoghurts which are 96% fat free. 15 flavours are available including mixed berries, banana and passionfruit, cookies and cream, rocky road and cherry ripe. Or you can opt for a banana strawberry, banana mango, peach and mango, berry banana, mango mania or tropical flavoured yoghurt smoothie. You can also get a 1kg take home pack, or larger catering orders by request. Now if those flavours are making your mouth water, head to one of Yoco Yoghurts Adelaide stores located at City Cross Arcade, Rundle Mall, Myer Centre Terrace Level, Rundle Mall, Burnside Village and Norwood Place.
